EFTPOS Canterbury Ltd is a privately owned and operated company. It was established in Canterbury in 1993 as Equinoxe with a vision of providing Cantabrians with state of the art point of sale equipment and an after sales service second to none.

It's inception coincided with the EFTPOS concept starting to become widely accepted as an effective and secure payment solution in New Zealand. Equinoxe/Eftpos Canterbury Ltd, is in fact the longest established Canterbury based EFTPOS company.

The company's founder Robert (Bob) Gordon has had 20 years experience in telecommunications, Eftpos and Merchant Business Banking. He along, with Graeme Telford as past owners, have passed on their vast experience to current owners Steve & Stephanie Batey and still assist them.

Steve & Stephanie Batey bring a wide range of skills to the business of Eftpos Canterbury Ltd. Their focus is on providing Exceptional Service to the Customer, for without excellent service, there will be no customers, and if there are no customers, there is no business. So their focus is to provide the best Eftpos Service possible.

Whilst the company specialises in EFTPOS we also sell Touch screen and PC based POS along with Cash Registers and all the associated accessories.. We also service a diverse customer base with a wide range of consumables in the form of PAPER ROLLS, and Printer Ribbons all around New Zealand. These sales were sold from "NZ Paper and Ink", a subsidiary of Eftpos Canterbury Ltd but this has now been incorporated into Eftpos Canterbury Ltd.

With a range of reliable Eftpos Terminals, POS and quality consumables, we can provide our customers with effective solutions to meet their point of sale needs. Over the years we have established many synergistic relationships with many suppliers to ensure provision of a nationally available service network. These relationships include working closely with all the major banks for Eftpos connections.

Steve & Stephanie have other business interests, these are in Business Mentoring and Coaching with the business KIWI Business Builder Group, and recently sold a limousine company, American Classic Limousines to dedicate time for the Eftpos business.

Steve Batey – Manager – Director - Sales & Marketing & Installations
Steve is in charge of managing the running of the whole operation, Marketing and Sales. Steve’s background is diversified in running many small businesses so he understands the requirements of his customers. He has had previous involvement in running a glazing and building & property company, and more recently a Limousine business started in 2000 and sold recently to devote more time in the Eftpos and POS business. Steve also actively coaches other business owners as a Business Coach with Kiwi Business Builder Group.

Steve’s activities are based around family and hobbies Drag Racing & Hot Rodding. In Drag Racing he competes in the Top Doorslammer class nationally, placing 3rd in the 2005/2006 year. Last year he had the season off from racing but helped commentating, and is on the Board of Drag Racing NZ. The family is involved with elder daughter packing parachutes, and younger daughter Emma a car mad 6 year old. This season he will be back competing in the 1955 Chevy 1200hp Doorslammer.

Stephanie Batey - Office Manager – Director - Sales and Installation
Stephanie manages the Office Accounts side of the business along with the day to day customer enquiries, either on the phone or showroom enquiries and the smooth running of the Office systems and daily office duties.

Stephanie is involved with crafts, stamping and card making, and keeping up with very busy 6 year old who is into everything 110%.

Judy Groves – Office Admin – Phones - Short Term Rentals - Sales & Leases
Judy runs the short term rentals for Mobile and Landline Eftpos as well as cash registers, telephone and email enquires for Eftpos, consumable paper sales, and administration.

Judy plays Hockey and also manages a men’s masters hockey team for away trips.…

Denis Allen – Cash Register, POS & Eftpos - Programming and Sales
Denis is our Cash Register and POS expert - he liaises with customers on their POS requirements matching their needs to our wide range of products. He then programs, installs, and trains staff in the use of each system.

Denis after hours time is spent with family and any spare time is spent eating, living and breathing drag racing.

 

Mark ( 1 ) is our Eftpos guy. He installs ( to local customers ) and provides full onsite training to the staff after install.

Mark is a big music fan, and has played in bands for many years. These years he spends his spare time with his wife and 2 children currently aged 4 and 2 ( that keeps him pretty busy after hours )

 

Mark ( 2 ) is also one of our Eftpos guys, he also programs our cash registers and POS.

After hours Mark enjoys relaxing with his family after a good weeks hard work.
