If
you already have EFTPOS, no
doubt you are sold on it's benefits,
however things can go wrong!
We as a "Local
Owned Eftpos Company"
provide to our local customers
a FULL SERVICE,
what does this mean to you,
our customer, well compare these
two true stories:
STORY 1 - A
local bottle store had a power
surge affect their building
at about 5.40pm Saturday on
a June evening, and it was an
All Blacks rugby test here in
town. The lights had dimmed,
the fax and the eftpos both
went down, so a quick call was
made their Eftpos dealer, Eftpos
Canterbury. Steve answered the
call, was told of the power
surge, and that a queue was
building out to the door, 20
minutes later he was there,
a replacement terminal loaned
and installed and within 10
minutes, all logged onto the
eftpos network. Meanwhile the
other was sent away for repairs.
RESULT - very little
inconvenience and not much business
lost.
STORY 2 - A
local video store has something
effect their eftpos Saturday
morning 10am in November. They
called their Eftpos supplier
(Auckland based) and they get
a helpdesk, but no one in Christchurch
available to help. On Monday
a replacement terminal was dispatched,
this arrived Tuesday and was
installed by the video store
manager, and it did not work.
Several phone calls later established
that it was the Pin pad, not
the terminal, but the Auckland
company had not sent one of
these. A Pin pad was dispatched
late Tuesday, but unfortunately
did not arrive on the courier
Wednesday. In desperation, Wednesday
2pm a call was made to Eftpos
Canterbury, we responded, when
the call came in, as we were
not that far away at an appointment.
We were able to call afterwards
just 25 minutes later. When
we arrived the manager explained
the situation. As the manager
and staff were in a state of
despair, (although we should
not touch other equipment) we
had a look, installed them a
loaned Pin Pad and had it logged
on, all within 10 minutes.
RESULT - The video
shop had had four days of having
to do manual eftpos paper vouchers,
had customers walking out because
of the queues in the shop, staff
and management frustrated, and
much business lost.

Ground
– Lyttelton
On a Friday afternoon we had
our Eftpos go down, After 2
hours chasing our Eftpos supplier
who we lease from, we found
out that Monday would be the
earliest that we can get a spare
terminal from them (and Saturday
and Sunday are our busiest days
trading). In desperation of
our plight we talked with Peter
from the Volcano across the
road about our predicament and
running a business with No Eftpos
for a weekend. He suggested
I try his Eftpos man Steve at
Eftpos Canterbury, so even though
they are not our supplier, we
gave him a call and explained
the situation. Within a short
time he called over, programmed
in a short term loan terminal
and we were up and going for
the busy weekend, a relief for
us and a welcome sight to see
that Log On working (when our
other crowd got us a machine
we couriered Eftpos Canterbury’s
terminal back). But, as soon
as our lease ends, we will be
changing to Eftpos Canterbury
and ditching the other company,
what good is the Eftpos terminal
without decent back up support. |
